It is important to encourage liver transplant recipients to have the COVID vaccine. Organ transplant recipients are in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) group and are a priority to get the vaccine. 

One caveat to this in the current guidance is that patients should wait 3 months post-solid organ transplant before having their COVID jab. 

It is also important that patients on the transplant waiting list are encouraged to get the COVID vaccine when offered it. Patients with advanced liver disease, needing a liver transplant are also in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable group and are also prioritised to be offered the vaccine.
